You probably know that high-end industrial 3d printers can print metal objects by using laser or electron beams on fine metallic powder but Vader is something completely different. Vader aims at small companies or professional workshop environments by implementing proprietary MagnetoJet Printing (MJP) and magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) ceramic printhead technologies to reduce the machine cost.

It uses molten metal and jets it in small droplets onto a surface similary to a standard inkjet paper printer and by connecting the metal droplets a 3d object can be made. It could be considered world’s first molten metal 3d printer! f the design ideas behind this machine is to make it widely available, the material it uses had to be widely available and cheap so the main material is molten aluminum wire .

While the basic technology sounds easy in theory and has been used even 20 years ago in the past for some applications, there are still many difficult technical obstacles to overcome. These obstacles include reaching complex requirements like developing a printhead that is resistant to abrasive properties of molten aluminum by using ceramics, magnetic containment and getting drop-on-demand molten metal droplets. Vader is founded two years ago by Scott and Zachary Vader, a father-son team. With Fall of 2015 being the timeframe for the release of first working pre-production Mark 1 prototype.

The price range of the first machine should be around 250.000 USD which is much cheaper than currently available commercial metal 3d printers. Hopefully the Vader team will be successful in bringing their machine to the market and start the race for affordable HOME metal 3d printers. I want one! And I know some of you want one too! Get Promotion PCB Prototipyng Introduction
The easiest and fastest way to get 5 to 1000 PCBs prototyped for an incredible low price while the production and quality control follows all industrial standards. Bigger quantities up to 100k, special material or surface, up to 20 layers or even flexible boards (FPC) are available on request.

How it works: Choose your options above. Verify that your Gerber files comply with all limits and with the sub-board definition below. Upload your Gerber files. Add to Cart. Done. For bigger quantities, more layers, special options, tests, panels, discounts or combination with our other services contact us directly at pcb@smart-prototyping.com.

If you want to go from prototying to real production then visit our Other Services.
Check out PCB fabrication FQA. Production Time: 2 layer board: 3-4 working days, if qty>50, 4-6 working days.

4 layer board: 4-5 working days, if qty>50, 5-7 working days. Expediting Production time: Contact us if you have any queries regarding delivery.
Please don't order 24hours and 48hours production time on Thursday and Friday, there is no enough time for us ship it out before weekend. If the qty>30 and you choose 24hr, that is mean we will manufacture the boards with 48hr; If the qty>30 and you choose 48hr, that is mean we will manufacture the boards with 72hr.

Combinations: If you want more than only a naked PCB you can combine the PCB prototyping service together with our other electrical prototyping services to a turnkey solution: Gerber Files: If you are ordering the first time make sure that your design is comply with following min/max limits: Solder Paste Stencil: the solder paste stencil is Laser-cut steel on a aluminum frame with a minimum recommended pitch of 0.4mm. Please make sure the effective area is twice as big as your PCB so that top and botom side can be placed on the same stencil. Separated Sub-Boards: for separating boards please use a slot according to following pictures.

Drilling holes or other methods for separating boards will be NOT accepted. Boards which are separated only by silk-screen are not counted as sub-boards and don't have to be payed extra. Junctions between V-Slots are always crossing (X). For other junctions like (T) or (L) you need to use the normal milling and not the V-Slot. download Panels: For higher quantities (depending on the used area) we will combine your PCBs automatically to a panel. If you don not want it or want to define your own panel then contact us before ordering at pcb@smart-prototyping.com. E-Test: All PCBs are getting a 100% AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) to make sure that all tracks and pads are connected.

In addition to this the PCBs can be tested by a flying probe to make sure that all vias are connected, because this is not visible by the AOI. 1-layer PCBs don't need this tests because there are no vias. 4- and 6-layers will be tested always 100% with a flying probe. For 2-layer PCBs you have the choice between a 100% E-Test with a flying probe or only to test enough to make sure that at least 95% of all PCBs are working.
If you want higher quality choose always E-Test 100% . If you want a lower price then choose E-Test 95%. PCB Assembly Capabilities,
